We got off to a great start with a devotion from one of the Urban Promise staff that focused our hearts on John 15:12. Love one another.

We arrived at the Urban Promise office and were put to work – sanding a playground and working on a concrete project that was begun by a group last week.

I’m currently with my team at Camp Freedom. Carly and Nathan are acting out the parable of the lost coin (see picture below… I can’t exactly tell you what part of the story has been captured here). There is a massive coin hunt underway. After each of our team will be assigned a student to help with homework. At the end of the after school program, we will meet up with the other teams and make dinner together. The team doesn’t know this yet but we are going to attempt a sausage paella — which will be a fancy way of saying ‘sausage and rice’.

I’m so impressed with this group of youth — such great attitudes today and lots of encouragers.

Your prayers are so appreciated.
